Dr. Sarah Shine DPT began her physical therapy career working closely with physicians and nurses in an acute and intensive care setting at Oregon Health & Sciences University, treating patients with orthopedic, oncologic, and cardiopulmonary conditions. She has spent time working in inpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing as well, and is very familiar with the entire continuum of care. She is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) and specializes in custom garment fitting for lymphedema.
Sarah is trained in several manual therapy techniques including manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) and myofascial release, and is Graston Technique (R) certified. She believes that rehabilitation should be simple and practical enough that patients can immediately apply what they learn and improve their daily life, and she finds great joy in helping her clients get back to the activities and lifestyle they most enjoy.
Sarah was born and raised in San Diego, CA and has been slowly migrating north. She received her BS in Biology from San Francisco State University in 2001. She continued northbound and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR, in 2007.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys hiking, backpacking, learning guitar, taking road trips to all the corners of Oregon, and the general spontaneity that comes along with having a historian for a husband and two energetic young sons.
